bpb Freebie: Super discount on Foodizm's hip dabba delivery service. For this and other weekly deals as well as a FREE weekend guide in your inbox every Friday, enter your email in the subscription box.
What: Sabroso’s dips and sandwiches, based out of a home in Juhu, to order call 26230982 / 9892111525, two days notice required, Rs 250 for a sandwich, delivery charges applicable.
Why: Home cuisinier Nidhi’s dips (get the mean roasted garlic with fresh ginger and soya) may cost as much as the ones at Indigo Deli, but she home delivers, handwrites pairing recommendations and unlike many caterers, even does a single portion order. She also whips up a yum arugula sandwich, cheese fondue, strictly passable paneer achari in toasted naan and a chunky olive dip we’re still pondering.
When: You want your gourmet to go.
What: Love Trust - The Charity Shop, next to Cozy Home, Pali Hill, Bandra (W), start at Rs 1,000.
Why: We found a love shack at Pali Hill and it isn’t Ranbir Kapoor’s home. This new philanthropic store belongs to fashion designer Nandita Mahtani (Ananya) and will retail pieces from her old collections at discounted rates - flat prices of Rs 1,000, Rs 2,000 and Rs 3,000 –sending proceeds to a good cause. Eventually, we hear that other designers will be roped in too. bpb’s going back for: suede bag with orange sunflowers, nude sequined chiffon kurta and one shoulder romper.
When: You need to buy heart. Slated to open this weekend.
What: Sell Biology – bpb’s guide to exchanging your old stuff for cash, kind or karma, read here.
Why: Ever wonder how you could trade your Photoshop skills in return for guitar lessons, exchange the Tintin comics you grew out of (who are you people?!) for the Twilight series, or sell the promise ring your ex-boyfriend gave you for cold, hard cash? We tell you how.
When: You want to enter barterdom.
What: Rent a fancy car from RnB, visit www.rnbcars.in or view the Facebook group here.
Why: Pretending to be rich next Saturday night? Rent a BMW 5 Series (iPads, Wi-Fi, credit card machines included), cruise around the city, stop for hot hitchhikers and then return to R&B before it turns into a pumpkin (after four or eight hour slot). Besides the Elite Fleet, these engine soaked boys also provide luxury cabs, airport transfers and out of city chauffeur driven wheels pimped out with leather seats, DVDs and video games. Adriana Limo!
When: Launches end of May, fill a pre-registration form here.
What: Mini bar, spa and vanity trunks by TT Trunks, visit www.tttrunks.com or email Aruna Sharma at
to order, price on request.
Why: From the outside, these nifty trunks look perfectly normal, complete with wheels, locks and handles. But open them up and you’ll find that they’re tricked out with cleverly designed mini bars (slots for shot glasses, bottles, ice bucket, etc); dressing tables (jewellery bust, ring boxes); and even a full-fledged spa. These can be customised for size, function, colour and more. Talk about excessive baggage!
When: You want to earn big buksas.
