Why: When a take-away joint can evoke Neruda’s “sedulous cabbage arranging its petticoats”, you know the produce is fresh enough to be poetic. But while the veggies are crisp and the sauces, bright, the men who wrap at this new health joint need strict instructions. For instance: yum Greek Style wrap (ask for less onion), smoked chicken-brown rice roll (more sauce) and orange crème brule (eat as is). Also served are soy shakes, salads, vegan wraps and in-house gelato. Although bagels weren’t available and our bad-batch avocado sandwich was limp, we focussed on the finer details like super food packaging, upside down potted plants and retro Campbell’s tomato soup cans for sale.
