What: Sweet Desire – new patisserie, Param Jyot Building, 16th Road, behind Mini Punjab restaurant, opposite Syndicate Bank, Bandra (W), call 65255454, Rs 50 for a macaron, Rs 60 for a regular cupcake.
Why: Was it our fussing over the mango tart, buttery and ambrosial, that made Sweet Desire blush so? Pink all over, this new patisserie from the guys behind Firangi Paani, sells yum, not-too-sweet red velvet and chunky chocolate cupcakes; rainbow-coloured macarons (not as good as Le 15’s); and that center-of- attention Alphonso tart. Steer clear of the vanilla cupcake with synthetic-y frosting and lack lustre black forest pastries.
When: You want an a-mousse bouche.
Note: Churchgate's iconic Sundance Cafe to return in a new avatar.

What: Carpet shampoo and home deep cleaning by Dial4cleanhome, call 9920561736 or visit www.dial4cleanhome.com, start at Rs 2,300 for a 1BHK.
Why: As a harried army of sweepers scrubbed Sarah Jessica Parker’s home clean in time for US President Obama’s visit last night, we wondered if we should have sent SJP this. Dial4cleanhome.com offers sepcialised apartment tidiness services and promises to reach places that your house help can’t – carpet shampoo, couch wash and house “deep cleaning” for when you’ve returned from that long vacation. A must(y)-have! Before recently foraying into private homes, these guys have taken corporate offices like DNA, Times Music, Levi’s and the Jindal House to the cleaners. SJP, read it and sweep!
When: You want a new kind of grime riot disco.

What: Mumbai Tattoo Expo 2012, Arcade Building, World Trade Center, Cuffe Parade, visit www.tattoo-convention-indianink.com, Rs 200 entry with cover charge.
Why: Forty tattoo artists from around the world, and an estimated 3,000 people who want to get inked – imagine the amount of pain and gain under one roof as the Mumbai Tattoo Expo comes back into town. Needles to say, they’re excited as they return with a whole bunch of non-ink additions like BMX stunt performers, zumba and poi workshops, live music gigs and a not-encouraged-by-bpb mystic bazaar. If you decide to get a tattoo, there’s liquid courage (read cocktails) from Barmobile and sustenance (snacks) by Cool Chef Cafe.
When: Skin show on June 15, 16 and 17 from 11 am to 10 pm.

What: Samantha’s Salon, no. A 17, Elco Arcade, Hill Road, Bandra (W),call 9820409749 or view the Facebook page here, haircuts for men start at Rs 500 and for women at Rs 800.
Why: If your bartender has one ear on you and the other listening for a raid, you’ll need a new confidant. May we suggest Sam, a pretty girl who loves to listen while she gives you a kickass hair cut/style/colour. And sometimes, that beats a stiff drink. The hairstylist this Scouter (and half of Bandra) swears by, Sam started her own salon a week ago, with splashes of purple, six seats, five stylists and the option of getting a mani-pedi while you wait. Fabulous!
When: You need a bang(s) up job.

Why: Ankur Malhotra of indie music label Amarrass Records wants to make this little known percussion instrument into a star, so he’s sourcing five from Jaisalmer (more to come based on demand) into the big bad city. Also coming up are workshops with morchang geniuses - stay tuned!
When: You want to chew on Jew-cy Fruit.
Event Round-Up: Live music gigs, stand up acts, brunch and more.
