Why: We haat Dilli. So much that we’re launching brown paper bag in the Capital next week! Get your Delhi friends, foes and lovers to sign up for new and secret city updates like these: where to take snake charming lessons, learn to bake with the Queen’s confectioner, find out about the new Buddha Bar, get a quiche specialist on speed dial.
When: Launches next week with Capital gains.
What: Soul – new Indian restaurant at Svenska Design Hotel, Andheri (W), call 44310000, Rs 2,250 for a meal for two with one drink each.
Why: Reading the menu at this pretty, dimly lit rooftop restaurant is hard but once you focus, you’ll find that cocktails here are quite bright – spicy Pataka Mary and lemony Shikanjvi with slivers of ginger. Solid food seekers get the malai kebab, dal makhani and soft, soft butter naans. Refrain from ordering rubbery mutton nalli and the too tangy murgh kurchan. Full review out on Monday!
When: You want to hear the tandoor’s last sigh.
Why: This weekend, keep your friends close and your enemies within shooting range as we track down Game Garage, a cool service that rents out laser tag guns for indoor and outdoor play. Once you’ve called in with your requirement, the arms rep comes over with colour coded guns for two teams, teaches you how to use them and returns the next day to collect. Uzi target?
When: Life revolvers around your friends.
What: Mumbai Wine Tasting Festival 2012 at The Pier, Radio Club, Colaba, call 02265222244, Rs 450 + taxes if booked online, passes at the venue for Rs 550 + taxes.
Why: Wines to taste and buy from around the world, lots of cheese and cool art, olive platters and salsa workshops on the pretty Colaba wharf. Who says you have to be Bord(eaux) this weekend?
When: Pier card in on March 17 and 18 from 4 pm to 10.30 pm.
Why: So you haven’t been felt up in a while? Call Dhvani Shah and Ginelle Sequeira, two design graduates who cut bits of felt into bikini tops and bottoms, and put them on bags and cushions. bpb loves this cotton red bag with detachable cameras and polaroids that can be moved around to play tic-tac-toe. Perfect for when all that groping gets old and all you need is companionship.
When: You want to re-think your foreplay strategy.
