Why: Homegrown band Something Relevant puts down toots at a 1,000 square foot former cotton mill, which they’re transforming into a studio/recording jam room for themselves and other Mumbai bands. The space is tricked out with all kinds of cool equipment, including egg monitors, an Apollo UAV device, nucleus controllers, acoustics by Andy Monroe and a 2,000 tonne cotton press – no fabrication!
When: Johnny Cash crop goes live in the third week of June.

Why: Block (print) party! Colaba’s fashion forward Grants Building gets a new tenant – kurta store Cottons that’s set up shop in a pretty space with wooden door and white washed walls. Inside, you’ll find their trademark airy kurtas – see white Anarkali- and also a corner dedicated to Jaipur’s Silver Centrre featuring jhumkas and long spiky earrings (recommended!). PS: Di Bella Coffee is coming up right next door.

What: #BombayCocktailClub’s pop-up at the bar above Yellow Tree Cafe, second floor, Yellow Tree Café, 33, Ambedkar Road junction, Bandra (W), for more information hound @gingerbitters, Rs 500 for a cocktail.
Why: Look twice before crossing the road, #BombayCocktailClub, for this is the first time you’re leaving home. This bunch-drunk-love society that until now drank in Mumbai living rooms is doing its first public pop-up bar, with a Mad Men theme. Now, we can’t guarantee that Megan Draper will be staging a sexy Zou Bisou Bisou number, but there will be drinks like Old Fashioned and Basil Gimlets inspired by the TV show. Club founder and cocktail geek Tim Judge recommends you dress the part.

Marketing executive by day and action figure collector by night, he works with retailers and collectors in the US who can ship the action figure of your choice, in ten days or less. Ramgopal also offers to meet you at a convenient spot in Mumbai to make the exchange. Look for the guy in the mask carrying a 24 inch Thor statue.
