His motor movement is well oiled by event planner wife Anjani’s super organisational skills - before this, they ran Chequered Flag, a national Formula One fan club together.

Besides treasure hunts and navigational contests, the Merchants also organise personalised music playlists, snacks for the car, ice boxes and anything else on your whim card. If sending in a list of demands seems like too much work, just grab your wheel and join one of Exoterra's off-the-shelf leisure or adventure drives, meeting a bunch of interesting motor enthusiasts in the bargain. Scenic road trips in the past have included Uttarakhand, Ladakh and Lavasa.
