bpb goes sale-ing to find you girls the best bargains at Mumbai stores. Coming up next, all the action from the man cave sales.
Zara (up to 50% off)
There’s a ridiculous waiting time at the trial rooms and the store looks like a war zone, but let that not deter you from taking home some interesting finds. We loved the combined dress (see picture above) with a sheer shirt and sequenced skirt (marked down to Rs 1,990 from Rs 2,790) or the pretty polka-dotted day dress and buttery yellow Peter Pan collared blouse (both marked down to Rs 1,390 from Rs 1,790). But the whale at the sale is definitely the off-white flowy maxi skirt (marked down to Rs 2,790 from Rs 4,790).
Available at Zara, Palladium Mall, Lower Parel and Infinity Mall, Malad.
Mango (up to 50% off)
The Mango sale is great fun this time around with lots of dresses and blouses and most importantly, sizes. Make a beeline for the hot red biker jacket with zipper lined pockets (marked down to Rs 2,990 from Rs 5,990). There’s also comfy cotton green printed dress with a scoop back (marked down to Rs 1,990 from Rs 2,990) and a lovely printed boat neck dress with three-quarter sleeves (Rs 1,690, formerly Rs 2,990). In the shoes department, we loved the animal print and red bow ballerinas (both Rs 1,690, formerly Rs 2,990).
Available at Mango stores across the city.
Aldo (up to 50% off)
The least crowded store on our sale recce, perhaps because the discounts aren’t that huge yet, but we suspect further reductions in the coming days. If you’re not one to wait, then we suggest you keep your eyes peeled for the fun strappy leather orange sandals (marked down to Rs 3,500 from Rs 4,400) and the sky-high bright yellow cork-heeled peep toes (Rs 4,400, formerly Rs 5,200). But we can’t guarantee if the well-priced black sling-back wedges (Rs 2,300, formerly Rs 4,600) will be sitting pretty on the store shelves for too long.
Available at Aldo stores across the city.
Forever New (up to 70% off)
Forever New is the best sale to hunt for skirts. Here, hems rise and fall, but prices are always lowered. We found a pretty light pink floral printed skirt (marked down to Rs 1,815 from Rs 2,600) and another asymmetrical hem georgette skirt (Rs 895, formerly Rs 2,600) but our best buy, hands down, was the watermelon pink pleated midi skirt for Rs 1,395 (formerly Rs 2,800) and way cheaper than an almost-identical one at Zara.
Available at Forever New stores across the city.
Vero Moda (up to 70% off)
A good part of the collection was reduced by 40 to 50%, but a lot of the nice dresses and tops that we had eyed pre-sale were gone before we could get to the store. We didn’t particularly fancy what we saw here, save for a pair of loose-fitted printed cropped pants (Rs 1,185, formerly Rs 1,695).
Available at Vero Moda stores across the city.
Promod (up to 50% off)
Promod had a really good summer collection this season, so it’s hard to leave the store without a good bargain. Get the oh-so-soft bright orange printed maxi, now at Rs 1,500 and the Mad Men inspired retro polka-dot cowl neck dress in pale pink at Rs 1,410.
Available at Promod stores across the city.
