Most of the made-in-China stock at Nehitro, Mumbai’s new unisex fashion store is not worth the space in today’s brown paper bag. But dig deep enough, and some treasures can be unearthed. We trim out the unnecessary detailing, cut to the chase, get to the (needle) point, and round up the five best things to check out here if you drop by.
Flower Chappals (Rs 1,600): A combination of coarse canvas straps and pretty netted flower all pollen to one. Since there was only one pair left on the shelf, we refrained from adding to our cart just so you could get it. Also test your petal with rose feather clips (Rs 450) in different colours.
Gold Mesh Clutch (Rs 2,750): This shimmery round clutch with kiss lock and chain strap is something Beyonce would carry. But its small size means bare essential booty only.
Layered Mini (1,750): We wish that most of the flapper dresses displayed here had stayed back in the 1920s, but loved a faded pink mini skirt version that fit like a dream.
Bejewelled Slip Ons (Rs 1,400): Watching the multi-hued pieces lined up like a pretty rainbow almost made us forget that they were mass produced. Still, these are a fun cool-ugly pair to own.
Animal Print Dustbins (Rs 2,500): Move over dust bunnies, the bin just got trashier. These snake skin cans with patent leather detailing aren’t for everyone, but they could appeal to the animal in you.
Sorry boys, the rack of limited shirts – including some hideous D&G fakes – yielded nothing for you. Better tuck next time!
