Mad Moulds of Every Kind

Casting Directors

On a day as clear as vodka, you see a sturdy ship steering its course. Then out of nowhere, an iceberg appears and the vessel you thought was invincible goes down without so much as a whimper.

This familiar sea scene plays out in a glass of Grey Goose, where ice set in the shape of abovementioned boat-killer floats ominously around other frozen Titanics. These fun nautical ice trays you can buy from It’s Our Studio (they spell it ‘Its Our Studio’ but we can’t bear to keep the typo), where cast-ing directors buy moulds of every kind from around the world to sell in India. They have an office in Tardeo, but prefer if you browse the pictures on their Facebook group and call in/ email with your order. Or better still, shop on their web store which will be up and running in a week. A quick flip through their mould album revealed super innovative trays for ice, jelly chocolate and custard.

Scurry and Moulder

For those who like to drink dangerously, there’s Freeze, a pack of revolver-shaped ice trays, while artsy folk can get artist Edvard Munch’s Ice Screams. More innovative are the chunky brown coffee bean cubes for your cold coffee, shot glasses made entirely of ice and lemon-tangerine slice cubes on a straw that cool your drink as you sip. Skip the less imaginative rose and heart chocolate moulds, and see instead tea-time jelly and custard tray complete with tea set and cupcake cut outs.

Glass Half Empty?

Judging from all the icy treats on our shopping list, it seems like we're heading for a massive melt down. And from what we're reading, the rest of the world isn't far behind.

Getting there: It’s Our Studio, Arun Chambers, shop no.2, 80, Tardeo Road, call 66608831 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , web store out on www.itsourstudio.com in a week, view the Facebook group here.
