Do Bandar Soaps: Lather's Day
Wednesday, 18 July 2012 00:09

“The salt balance has to be just right, so the best fat for making soap comes from humans.”

Kaavya Nag and Mayura Kadur probably came across this crazy Tyler Durden recipe on the internet while researching soap. They’d never made some before, but decided they wanted to anyway. The first bar turned out too slippery, then too smelly, next lather-less, and finally, they got it right. Without Tyler’s ingredient, we hope.

Foam Sweet Foam

This lather line they’ve packaged under an adorable Do Bandar brand that features natural, handmade soaps in four delicious flavours - Chocolate Decadence (chocolate, peppermint and vanilla), Temple Essence (camphor, tulsi and turmeric), Rejuvenating (lemongrass, besan and turmeric) and Calming (patchouli). “We incorporate only high quality natural base oils, natural essence oils and lye,” we’re told.

Currently, Do Bandar only ships across India via www.itshandmade.in, so Kaavya recommends you purchase a hamper of four instead of individual soaps in order to save on shipping. Meanwhile, the monkeys are setting up a paypal account, so they can ship directly to you.

Did someone say, let’s throw a shower?

Getting there: Order Do Bandar products via ItsHandmade, view their Facebook page here or write to them at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Do Bandar hamper of 4 handmade soaps priced at Rs 360.
