Everyone has heard about the elephant (poo) in the room, but it's not the only animal to crap paper, you know. Meet Elrhino, a new stationery label that processes and markets paper products made out of not only elephant but rhinoceros poo as well, selling pretty lamps, gift cards, photo frames and even dubiously named "caress diaries". I sty!
Dung Twisters
Founded by Mahesh Bora, a retired mining engineer from Assam and his Mumbai-based daughter and marketing consultant Nisha, Elrhino aims to raise awareness for endangered elephants and rhinos that reside in jungles of North East India, routinely hunted down by poachers. The company consists of a small paper plant in Chaygaon, Assam, where villagers from the area help Mr Bora collect and transfer dung, which is processed into pretty, odour-free paper.
Rhino Wins the Rat Race
Pay special attention to office stationary like files, bins and note boxes in animal prints. Convenient, eco-friendly and nicely finished, they're sure to help you rise to a presidential position. Vladimer Poo-tin?
Getting there: A 405, Harshvardhan Complex, Saki Vihar Road, Powai, visit Elrhino’s Facebook page here or call Nisha at 9833519256.
