SV Bambini: Fluffington Post
If you were to shrink down to kid-size right now, you’d want to wear one of Sonya Vajifdar’s SV Bambini dresses. The pink wispy one in particular, the one that looks like it’s crafted from candy floss. Also, having one of those scootys (see picture) to zip around on, would be nice.
After designing uber-cool rain gear for Mumbai, this Istituto Europeo de Design graduate is now aspiring to be the poster child for high-end little girl fashion. bpb hearts these dresses because although they come with all the pre-requisite little girl fluff – frills, bows, candy colours – there’s nothing overtly childish about them. We only wish Sonya hadn’t referred to Suri Cruise as an “icon” in one of her why-I-started-designing-for-children quotes, although Hollywood’s favourite kid would look rather cute in Sonya’s ruffled dresses whose colours mimic shades of the sea, clusters of lilacs and slabs of butter.Yum!
Scribbles: From Macaroon to Maxis Other news on the school bulletin: Designer Anika Gupta’s Scribbles has a new line of clothes for boys and girls aged between 3 and 12, which you can buy at her trunk show at The Taj Vivanta today. The girl’s line is inspired by “a summer day in Paris”, featuring fun macaroon-coloured flappers, hand-painted sheaths – one of them’s called Monet- that we’re not crazy about and summery cotton rosette dresses. The range for boys doesn’t really follow any particular theme – we liked the tee with camera and robot.
