My Peon: Task-erade Party
Thursday, 28 June 2012 16:10

Do you think that your blue suede shoes will dry clean themselves after you wear them out in the rain? Or that your cellphone bill will get paid, your groceries replenish, your car be serviced automatically while you loll around catching up on Game of Thrones? Yes? Well, you're almost right.

Keeping it Simple

My Peon is a new service that aims to ‘replace your shadow’, allowing you to hire a peon on a per-chore basis. Started by the guys behind At Your Service, it is a simpler, cheaper option than the former, which helps you handle general day-to-day tasks like airport pick ups and drop offs, payment of bills, trips to the vegetable market, cellphone repair, plumbing, etc. You can even hire a peon for three hour shifts if you have multiple tasks that need completing.

With a team of three boys who are proficient in English and well versed with the city’s landscape, My Peon promises that the quality of service won’t be compromised despite the small team. “They can easily manage, don’t worry” owner Bharat Ahirwar insists. Given Mumbai's traffic and inevitable delays caused by the rain, we wonder if there are be time constraints on each chore: “the charges per chore will remain the same however long it takes to complete," he assures us.

Happy to Help

The website, www.mypeon.in, will go live in a month but the service is already operating through Facebook and Twitter, where you can post your tasks and someone will get in touch with you within an hour. The service runs from 9 am to 8 pm and will be available anywhere in Mumbai (including Navi Mumbai).

What are you waiting for? Your blue suede shoes need some serious shampooing.

Getting there: Call 9833183385,view the Facebook page here, www.mypeon.inemail  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or call to register after which you will receive the peon’s contact details, Rs 100 plus local travel if the task is given one day in advance, Rs 200 plus local travel if the task is given on the same day, registration is free.
