Recipe: Burger at Woodside Inn

The annual Beer & Burger Festival returns to Woodside Inn for the fourth time, where brew from different countries - Mexico, Ireland, Holland, Belgium - is paired with a burger inspired by that nation's cuisine. Among the new buns making their debut this year is one Shitake mushroom patty with pickled ginger, inspired by Japan. bpb convinced the boys over at Woodsie to share a recipe from the festival that goes on until July 31. How? We added some maska to taste.

Shitake and Soya Bean Burger with Pickled Ginger

Ingredients

For the patty

50 gms shitake mushrooms, 20 gms soya bean, 20 gms mashed potatoes, 5 gms fresh sweet marjoram, 5 gms fresh basil, 10 ml oil, bread crumbs to bind, salt and freshly crushed pepper to taste.

This Saturday, artist Prashant Hirlekar, best known for his use of bright colours, will teach you how to paint an umbrella happy enough to weather the season’s gloom. Other weekend workshops in the month-long series include jazzing up eco-friendly bags and other fun materials. Amateurs welcome.

Why: Who moved your cheese? It’s probably a beautiful marble platter with rose bud trimmings, pretty enough to make your mascarpone cry with happiness. bpb spied this and other uber cool cheese platters (we love this whimsical Swiss Cheese board) crafted by American metal moghul Michael Aram and sold for less at Curiosity (reduced from USD 72 to Rs 1,500). The store tells us Aram will soon stop retailing in India, so get your hands on the last of the stock.
