Yogurt War

What's Soft, Fruity and Poised for Battle?

The frozen yogurt war at Carter Road just got hotter. Or colder. Now strategically placed in between Yogurtbay and Cocoberry is frozen yogurt shop Fro-Yo’s second Bandra outpost (the first is at Waterfield Road), which opened yesterday.

Replacing half the space that was once Crepe Station (the other half will soon host a British denim brand), Fro Yo’s new brancg should have opened with cool additions and super introductory offers to gain a one up above the competition. But what we saw instead were two new staid flavours – hazelnut and a forest berry that tasted just like black currant - and a parlour still waiting to be populated. Here’s the ammo the other two yogurt stores have to protect their turf.

Yogurtbay

When they launched: Free yogurt was doled out to the first 100 customers. We qualified.

Ammo: A new mixed berry and white chocolate mousse flavour served up by two sweet boys who own the place. Another acai berry is on its way.

Cocoberry

When they launched: They had a bunch of special offers and discounts.

Ammo: A loyal following and a delicious berry blast.

Maybe no one will have to surrender their scoops after all. There's plenty of mouths to feed at Carter Road.

Getting there: Fro-Yo, Gagangiri building, off Carter Road, next to Global Village, Bandra (W).
