The Restaurants
Jumjoji: This Parsi diner will serve special dishes that are off the regular menu like vegetarian and chicken kebabs, chicken and mutton farcha, prawn cutlets and more, starting August 18 to 24.
Shop no 4, Ankleshwar Building, ONGC Colony, Bandra Reclamation, 26516156, dishes start at Rs 350.
By The Way: Ask for their complete set meal for two that includes mutton pulao, patrani macchi, laganu custard and more.
Pandita Ramabai Road, next to Gamdevi Police Station, Gamdevi, Grant Road , 23803532, Rs 1,000 for two people.
The Verdict
Kainaz Messman, owner of Theobroma: “I prefer to choose from an a la carte menu than stick to a pre-set one. Also, since I haven’t dined at Jumjoji and if they’re serving good patrani macchi, I’d go there. My personal favourite though, is Paradise at Colaba that serves the best dhansak and bombil fry.”
Aazin Printer, musician: “I haven’t been to either one of the restaurants, but I’ve heard a lot about Jumjoji—that the food is expensive but awesome-so I would probably go there. But honestly, my cook makes killer mutton dhansak, and if she's on leave, there’s always Britannia.”
Navroze Mubarak!
