Weekend Wars: Corporate Lunches
Wednesday, 22 August 2012 17:57

It’s Friday tomorrow. Take a break from pretending to work and go to lunch with your colleagues. What corporate meal should you pick? Two workaholics stop for a moment, to help you decide.

The Deals

The Office Day Out at Vinoteca By Sula: The lunch special here comes with Pintxos, a range of Mediterranean sides and desserts like truffles, gelato and tarts.

Ground floor, Sunville Building, Dr Annie Besant Road, Worli, 30932030, 12.30 pm to 3.30 pm, Rs 550 (includes a glass of wine).

Corporate Luncheons at F Lounge.Diner.Bar: A buffet spread that includes a vegetarian or non-vegetarian soup, salad, Mediterranean and tapas counters, Indian main course dishes and desserts like flavoured yogurt, fondue and mousse.

Third floor, India Bulls 1, Senapati Bapat Marg, Lower Parel, 66505820, between noon and 3 pm, Rs 875 (including a glass of wine or beer).

The Verdict

Pratik Gupta, director at Foxymoron: “Most of my colleagues love wine, so I think Vinoteca would be a good choice. Plus, it’s the perfect setting for a casual team lunch, as compared to F Lounge, which has a more party kind of vibe.”

Jaideep Sippy, founder and CEO of Missisippy:  “I haven’t been to either, but Vinoteca’s menu sounds like fun. And I do want to try the pintxos — there’s so much innovation happening with them at the moment!”

OMG!!! Just two places to eat during a corporate lunch-hour????

Why would you ask Jaideep Sippy, ie: someone who hasn't been to either lunch for a "verdict"? You can only get a verdict after something has been tried. We don't want to know if they "think" it would be fun or a good choice or whatever. That means absolutely nothing.

You forgot to mention Neel at Mahalaxmi Racecourse who's corporate lunch deal at Rs 1,000 for a decadent 3-course meal is one of the best deals in the city!

Seriously?
You compare just TWO lunches? At two places that have vastly different price points and cuisines? Weak. Seriously weak.
