Recipe: Som Tum Tord

Raw papaya is good for you, batter fry it and it’s even better! Here’s a quick recipe for Som Tum Tord from Vongwong’s new menu.

Ingredients

1 small red and green chilly (finely chopped)

2 garlic cloves (chopped)

50 gms roasted peanuts

250 gms raw papaya (shredded)

4-5 cherry tomatoes

2 tsp lime juice

1 tbsp sugar syrup

A few long green beans

Salt to taste 

Method

Make a batter using corn flour and add in the shredded raw papaya.

Batter fry it in hot oil, remove it and set aside.

Mix the garlic, lime juice, sugar syrup and salt to make the dressing.

Mix the fried papaya with the dressing along with the beans, peanuts and cherry tomatoes.

Serve garnished with slivers of raw papaya.
