Scramble for Eggs

Warning: Sunday morning traffic at Apollo Bunder is about to get even more horrendous, because throwing in its hat with breakfast-destinations Indigo Deli and Le Pain Quotidian is The Table, which will launch a brunch menu this weekend. We suggest you walk, not only to escape the snarl of cars but also because after scarfing down Chef Alex Sanchez's insanely rich bread pudding style French toast, you're going to need the exercise.

Those who are watching their weight (what, even on a Sunday?!) will be pleased with thick yogurt and house made granola, served sundae-style and layered with berry compote that's just sweet enough. But if we were you, we'd indulge in breakfast "sliders", mini morning burgers topped with egg and cheese, and easily the yummiest dish at the breakfast tasting we attended earlier this week.

Making a Hash of It

Although the brunch menu favours carnivores, there are plenty of options for "Eggetarians", including eggs done any style and a nice dish of hash browns and vegetables topped with runny poached eggs (they also do a lamb version of this, meaty and fragrant, perfect for mopping up your Sunday morning hangover). Pure vegetarians, however, will have to stick to sweet breakfast options like waffles and pancakes and berry risotto (the pancakes are best) or order from the lunch menu, around 50% of which will be served at brunch.

Bloody, Mary!

Also, here's an intoxicating fact: The Table is  finally widening its alcohol options, moving from serving only wine to offering a full bar including a superior Margarita (ask for it frozen). The best breakfast drink though is still an apple and champagne cocktail, which has been on their menu since inception.
