Jai Thakur might be switching careers from banker to baker, but he hasn't strayed far from home: his new pizzeria, Di Napoli, will open at Nariman Point tomorrow, serving pizza, pasta, salads, desserts and eventually even breakfast to suits that work in the area.
We dropped by and found that Di Napoli is housed in a nice, airy space featuring red lacquered bar stools, glass-fronted take away counter and a large, hand-made oven apparently imported from Italy. Also flown in is chef Guilio Adriani, a "double certified Neapolitan Pizza specialist" who promises to serve up authentic pies.
Di Napoli could help bring some variety to a neighborhood largely dominated by the Inox food court - if it's any good, that is. Stay tuned for our full review, or straighten your tie, put on your best smile and try and crash the soft launch party, scheduled for this evening. Saucy!
Getting there: Dalamal Towers, ground floor, Free Press Journal Marg, Nariman Point.
