bpb Scoop: How I Met Their Madre
For a long time now, during one of our many watermelon-rose juice sessions at The Yoga House, we’ve stared longingly at their cute neighbour – a church-facing ground floor piece of real estate with a sea view terrace. Bless ...er bliss!
Looks like we lost our chance for that cutie’s been snapped up by Yoga House owners Ajit Singh Tapaswi and Maud Chuffart, who will be opening up an Italian restaurant here by the end of July. Along with a new partner Olivia LaCorte, the place will be called Madre (Italian for mother), and will specialise in simple, home-style Italian food. Maud tells us that the menu will feature anti-pasti platters, day’s specials and “authentic” pizza.
Bring your book to Chimbai and you might find it hard to pick between the muslin curtain booth at The Yoga House and the veranda and terrace setting at Madre that will seat about 50. If you find yourself conflicted, remember that God is right next door.
Getting there: Madre, ground floor and terrace, Chimbai, opposite St. Andrews Church, Bandra (W), slated to open at the end of July.
