Belma Puris on Order
Monday, 29 October 2012 07:49

Are you fatigued with the fancy? All that talk of blue cheese naan and risotto khichdi?

This week bpb found you some good old fashioned comfort food – super yum belma puris that this Scouter’s mum has been ordering for years. This, a paper thin Marwari roti-like dish can be paired with sabzi and pickle, but is tasty enough to eat on its own.

They’re prepared at a seven-storey building at Gowalia Tank where NGO Rajasthan Mahila Mandal provides employment opportunities for women, who in addition to the puris also make pickles, papads, sherbet, masalas and other made-to-order snacks.

They don’t deliver however, so you’ll have to do a pick up and order a minimum of 12 puris. Taker’s dozen!

Getting there: No 12, Forjett Street, Cross Lane, opposite Saibaba Temple, Gowalia Tank, Grant Road (W), Rs 12 for one belma, order a minimum of 12 puris at least a day in advance, call 23873197.
