A gym partner, guitar lessons, interns for your startup, a loan, a free hug: If you’re in the market for any of these things, the Sunshine Project can help you find them, with a little help from some Facebook friends.
A not-for-profit voluntary organization, The Sunshine Project currently runs out of a Facebook page and is managed by journalist Gayathri Jayaraman. "When you’d on the edge and looking down...ask for help; someone somewhere is there for you," it says. A bit cheesy, sure, but we appreciate the sentiment.
"Like" the page, and you can post your queries on their wall; or if you want to lend a hand, look through the listings and see if you can make someone’s day. Anyone from any part of the country can treat this page as their advertising banner or sounding board: currently, there’s a Devendra who’d like a tennis partner to play with at the NSIC, a post about an SAP related consulting job for fresher; and even one by Delhi’s Soul Kitchen, who needs utilities as donations to charities.
If you don’t want your name broadcasted on the page, you can email your request to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , and they’ll do an anonymous posting on your behalf. Bright lights!
