SwimCap

bpb thinks hard to find you the best head in Bombay. Enough said.

Bobby the Bobble Head: Consent Form

If life isn’t agreeing with you turn to Bobby the Bobble Head. His brightly hued body leads up to a springy turban top, one that approves of everything you say and do. Seat this diplomatic dude on your dashboard or desk for maximum accord. Sir, yes sir!

Getting there: Available online on Chumbak’s webstore, Rs 500.

Angry Shark Swim Caps: Stroke Out

Once upon a time, on the calm surface of an azure swimming pool, there appeared an ominous fin. Gradually, it rose to reveal a menacing shark’s head, which strangely enough, was attached to a human body, legs, feet and pretty red painted toes. Turned out, to the sunbathers’ relief, it was just a girl in a bikini sporting this super cute shark head swim cap. Finnish!

Getting there: Swim store, 1st floor, Link Square Mall, above Croma, Linking Road, Bandra (W), Rs 300.

Parmesh Shahani: Thinking (A)Head

Currently serving as the head of Godrej Culture Lab, Parmesh Shahani wears many hats on his extremely accomplished (and handsome) head, all of them fabulous. He is the author of Gay Bombay, Editor-at-Large for Verve magazine, TED fellow and organiser of TEDx Mumbai and Delhi, media specialist, art collector, MIT graduate, former venture capitalist and one of bpb’s favorite people ever. All this month, he’ll be answering subscribers’ questions on media, culture, fashion, art, his favorite item girl Malaika Arora and pretty much anything else you can think of.

Getting there: Write to Parmesh at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , and follow him on Twitter here.

Eats, Shoots & Leaves: Comma-tose

Grammar has never been funnier, and a redundant apostrophe never this scary. We recently re-read language Nazi Lynne Truss’ Eats, Shoots & Leaves: The Zero Tolerance Approach to Punctuation, in which she seethes, scolds, addresses and instructs in the right usage of the English language, cajoling readers to pay more attention to punctuation. The back of the book has cool ‘Panda Says No’ stickers that you can peel off and glue on to typos you see on street corners, wall posters or restaurant menus. Let’s start with the ads pasted inside Mumbai locals, shall we?

Getting there: Available at leading Mumbai bookstores for Rs 195.

Starry Head Phones: Wonder Ears

(Snoop) Dog ear this page in bpb’s shopping catalogue for when you want to look before you listen. Giant, black metal headphones with white stars – probably made in China – don’t guarantee the best sound, but look cool as hell.

Getting there: Preciosa, shop No 7, Corner View Society, next to Mini Punjab, Corner Of 33rd Street and 15th Road, Bandra (W), call 64402229, Rs 1,000.
