Delhi Art Gallery, one of the Capital's most prestigious art spaces is finally coming to our fair shores - say it paint so! The DAG has acquired a whopping three floors of a buttery, gorgeous old building in Kala Ghoda (right opposite the blue synagogue) and plans to open for business by the end of July.
The DAG representative we spoke to seemed a little dotty, but confirmed their arrival and also suggested that the gallery will open with Manifestations VII, a collection of works by 75 modern artists including Sohan Quadri, Paritosh Sen and Laxman Pai, currently on display in the Delhi branches.
Delhi Art Gallery specialises in and has one of the most comprehensive collections of 20th Century Indian art, showcasing the works of artists such as Raza and Hussain. The Kala Ghoda branch is their first venture outside of Delhi, and they sure have chosen a sweet spot for it!
