Dim Sums: 30
Monday, 29 November 2010 20:56

bpb’s Dim Sum series tries to make sense of the city with a new number in every episode. And how do we pick this digit? From a hat, of course! Yes reader, this math is mental.

Today’s number: 30

Get high on one of three elevated tables (deck1, deck 2, deck3) at Mumbai’s new nightclub Tryst, where the minimum billing is 30 grand.

XXX (Roman numerals for 30): If you’re scouring the internet for porn, do look up the Seduce Me series. A spin off from Green Porn, these two-minute comical films on the animal kingdom’s seduction rituals are cleverly hosted by veteran actress Isabella Rossellini, who’s doing it for the environment.

Put on your best hat and crane your neck out for Danish Aslam, currently in the race for the city’s most endearing 30-ish year-old title. He’s cute, smart and the director of recently released film Break ke Baad.

30 Second Rule:  Researchers at Connecticut College say that the 5 Second Food Rule (i.e dropped food is safe to eat if picked up within 5 seconds or less) can be extended to 30 seconds. (G)eeks!

Take notes at Bhargava’s, a cute music store on 30th Road, Bandra where you can take the instruments for a test drive, and annoy serious musicians who are there to shop / hang out.

November 30: Good luck to the GMAT, who’s preparing to take on one of us from the bpb office tomorrow. You’re going to need it.

Thirty Seconds to Mars (led by super hot front man/actor Jared Leto) bagged Best Rock Band award at the 2010 MTV Europe Music Awards held earlier this month. Bow down to their incredibly cool Kings & Queens music video.

Dimmest Sum: Jazz Music Festival (Dec 2) + History of India VIRitten (Dec 5) + Christmas (Dec 25) + TedxMasala for TEDWomen (Dec 8) – Bacardi NH7 Weekender (Dec 10) = 30

Yes, it’s almost here, 2011. Joy. Create an online calendar on 30boxes.com, and take each day as it numbs.
