Pitcher This
It’s time to beer your soul again as round two of Oktoberfest Mumbai begins today. This, a three-day beer party at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse, is the Indo German Chamber of Commerce’s homage to the annual Munich brew festival. Ask them why they decided to let Indians in on the celebration, and here’s what they have to say: “India is the land of the original Big Fat Wedding! No country celebrates weddings like India. Oktoberfest was in fact held for the first time in 1810 in honor of the Bavarian Crown Prince Ludwig's marriage to Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen.” You are cordially invited to the joyous occassion. Prepare a toast.
This year’s festivity highlights include gallons of Erdinger (light and dark) beer on tap, traditional Oktoberfest food and live performances by German band Die Oberbayern. If you didn’t book a table, you can still walk in – they’re accepting only 100 people each day on a first come first serve basis – but go early.Cheers! Getting there: Oktoberfest Mumbai at Royal Western India Turf Club, Mahalaxmi, on October 14, 15 and 16 from 5 pm to 10 pm, for more information email
