A Date with Skate Moss
Tuesday, 17 May 2011 20:04

What are you doing this Saturday at 5.30 pm? Wanna roll with us? How about we meet at Carter Road’s amphitheatre? We’ll be carrying a red skateboard. So, it’s a date then!

Well, we’re not really into blind dates either – much less when the other person brings bizarre props - so let’s fill you in on what to expect.

Free Wheeling

Come to the Bandra promenade and you’ll find a tricked out skateboarding school being led by three instructors: Nick Smith who runs Bangalore’s skate park and two others from the UK. Entry is free, and learning includes basic moves for amateurs and bada** tricks for enthusiasts. If you’re not into that kind of stuff, you can choose to watch. We hear they’re going to put up quite a mad board show once the workshop is done.

Yes, they say there’s no such thing as a free skateboarding school at an amphitheatre, so you should know the truth: all this comes courtesy international beach brand Quiksilver, who’s putting out wheelers couple of months before their store launch at Phoenix Mills in July this year.

So, see you then? No, we can’t promise we won’t wheel you up.

Getting there: On Saturday, May 21 at Carter Road amphitheatre, Bandra (W), call 9833866628 for queries, free.
