What: Laundry service in Gurgaon by Dhobi Ghaat, call 9711294294 or visit the website here, starts at Rs 999 per month.

Why: Because handing over your dirty laundry to the public can be pretty convenient: Dhobi Ghaat picks up clothes twice a week (for a single membership they do 80 pieces per month plus two bed sheets and four pillows) and returns them ironed and folded in 72 hours, using washing machines and Johnson and Johnson detergent to beat out the Delhi dust-heat-sweat. If you have delicates, they can launder those separately too, and work seven days a week from 8 am to 7 pm.  They also plan to expand to South Delhi next month, so stay tuned!

When: You want to soap for the best.

What: Shop online at We Make Love, visit the website here, Rs 150 for eco chic wooden forks.

Why: It’s not just the super cute name that distinguishes We Make Love from other e-commerce ventures mushrooming up around the web; it’s also the cool stationery, only-a-little cheesy rakhis and mustache-shaped ivory wood comb available on this easy-to-navigate site. Plus, prices stay under Rs 1,500 and they deliver all over India. Comb raider!

What: Doggy bags for your international travel by Mumbai-based Heat 2 Eat, call +91-9820865453 /9820579350, view the Facebook page here, Rs 300 for a kilo pack of ready-to-eat poha, shipping to Delhi extra.

Why: If you’re too cool to pack theplas for your vacation, outsource the job to mother-daughter duo Rita and Pankti, who put them in vacuum-sealed bags. They also do their own ready-to-eat doggy bags for travellers – masala khichdi, upma, poha, missal, Gujarati dal – that can be cooked in the microwave in two minutes after adding water. Unlike the ones available in the supermarket, these they claim, have no added preservatives or colour.

When: You want to say aloha to poha.
