Why: One swallow might not a summer make, but this bird can definitely make your weekend: register for a DAC workshop and you’ll learn how to fashion aircrafts from scratch and actually fly them. There are separate and on-going classes every Sunday in remote controlled aircraft, hovercraft and rotorcraft (which is just a fancy word for helicopter) design, each of which includes lectures, introduction to the basics of aerodynamics and tutorials in working with design and software so that even those who've only ever flown paper planes before are comfortable. You also work in teams of four, so email them in advance if you plan to go alone - they’re happy to be your wingman!
