So we have something fun for you, but it comes with strings attached. Sign up for a puppet and drama workshop run by Dramabaaz Co. in collaboration with What’s Up Bharaat that starts next week. The three month class will focus on all areas of theatre, beginning with lessons in basic acting techniques, moving on to improv and culminating in a performance at a public venue.
Apart from learning to act, you also learn to write for the stage, with a creative writing module. Most fun, however, is the section of the workshop that teaches you how to make puppets.
Dramabaaz is meant to get the show on the road next week, but they’re still waiting for more registrations—they’re aiming for fifteen people per batch, one from 2 pm to 4 pm and the other from 4.30 to 6.30 pm. Not very practical for people who have to work, but that’s probably what it takes to be a puppet master.
Getting there: Monday, Wednesday and Friday at What’s Up Bharaat, 1 HKV, call Garima Arya at 9654584898, Rs 2,500 per month, for more details on Dramabaaz, visit the Facebook page here.
